This portrait I abstracted from a contemporary image of a personal friend of mine. The idea is of the face portraying the subtle emotions and the little inflections of the human features, to reveal the underlying emotions of the subject. My goal was to reveal and omit features of the human identity in order to make a statement about the human condition.

It is an original one of a kind piece with no duplicates. The dimensions of the painting are 24"L X 18"W, made of acrylic on canvas painted to the edge so it's ready to display. Please bare in mind that the image on here does not do the vivid colors of the painting justice, it really is more brilliant in person.

This painting is particularly special to me because I had the pleasure of knowing and working with this young lady for 9 months at one of my past positions. She is a very beautiful, adventurous and fun person, and I really wanted to let that shine through in the work. In the subtle smile, and eyes that hide a sarcastic remark just beneath the surface.
